NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid) is designed for Structural Integrity. Unlike other fillers that are smooth and runny, NASHA gels have a firm, "particulate" texture.
The Particle Size: NASHA technology uses a specific, uniform particle size. Larger particles are used for deep volume (Lyft), while smaller particles are used for fine detail (Eyelight).
High G-Prime: This is a physics term for "firmness." High G-Prime fillers like Restylane Lyft act like "liquid bone." They stay exactly where they are placed and provide maximum lift with minimal product.
Minimal Cross-linking: Because the particles are naturally firm, they require less chemical cross-linking, making the gel highly biocompatible.
XpresHAn™: The Science of Movement
XpresHAn Technology™ (Optimal Balance Technology) is designed for Dynamic Expression. In areas of the face that move constantly—like the mouth and cheeks—you need a gel that can stretch and recoil without breaking or appearing stiff.
- Customized Cross-linking: This process creates a "mesh" of HA that can change shape as you move. It integrates into the tissue rather than sitting on top of it.
- The Stretch Factor: XpresHAn fillers have high "flexibility" and "support." This prevents the "shelf-like" look where the filler remains static while your facial muscles move.
- Invisible Integration: The gel fills the interstitial spaces between skin cells, making it virtually undetectable to the touch and invisible under high-definition lighting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Unlike lower-quality fillers that can become "lumpy" as they break down, Restylane is designed for isovolemic degradation. This means the gel maintains its volume even as it is slowly absorbed by your body, ensuring your results look consistent from month 1 to month 12.
Many HA fillers are "thirsty" (hydrophilic) and pull in excessive water, leading to a "puffy" morning-after look. Restylane is pre-hydrated to its equilibrium, meaning the volume we create in the chair is the volume you keep.
Most fillers last approximately 6–24 months, depending on the product, treatment area, placement, metabolism, and facial movement. Some results may remain visible longer. Maintenance is recommended based on your individual response—not automatically on a fixed schedule.
The amount depends on your anatomy, degree of volume loss, previous treatments, and desired outcome. We do not treat according to a predetermined number of syringes. Your plan is based on what is anatomically appropriate, with the option to build results gradually.
Our goal is not to change your identity or simply add volume. We evaluate the entire face and treat conservatively, restoring support only where it is needed. A phased approach allows the result to remain balanced, refined, and appropriate for your anatomy.
Most fillers contain lidocaine, and additional topical or injectable anesthetic may be used when appropriate. Patients generally describe the procedure as manageable, although sensitivity varies by treatment area and individual comfort level.
Most patients return to normal activities shortly after treatment. Temporary swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, asymmetry, or firmness may occur. Although improvement is often visible immediately, filler should be allowed approximately two weeks to settle before the final result is assessed.
Fillers are medical procedures and carry potential risks. Common effects include swelling, tenderness, and bruising. Less common but serious complications, including vascular occlusion, skin injury, and visual impairment, are also possible. We use FDA-approved products obtained through authorized channels, document every product and lot number, and prioritize careful anatomical assessment and complication preparedness. The FDA outlines both common and rare filler risks in its filler safety guidance.
We select products according to the tissue layer, treatment area, and clinical objective. Options may include FDA-approved hyaluronic acid fillers from trusted manufacturers such as specifically the RHA® Collection and Restylane®, and Merz® Radiesse as well as calcium hydroxylapatite biostimulators such as Radiesse®. No single filler is appropriate for every facial area.
Hyaluronic acid filler can usually be reduced or dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. However, biostimulatory products such as Radiesse® cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. We will always explain which product is being recommended, why it was selected, and whether it is reversible before treatment.
Swelling and minor asymmetry can temporarily affect the appearance of a new treatment, so nonurgent results are generally reassessed after the appropriate healing period. If you have concerns, we encourage you to return directly to our practice so we can evaluate the area and discuss observation, refinement, or reversal when clinically appropriate.
Migration is possible but is not expected with appropriately selected products, conservative volumes, correct placement, and proper technique. What appears to be migration may sometimes be swelling, residual product, tissue changes, or previously placed filler. A clinical assessment is necessary to determine the cause.
Some patients can achieve their goal in one appointment, while others benefit from a phased plan completed over several visits. Treatment may progress through foundation, refinement, skin support, and maintenance phases. Anatomy, treatment history, healing, budget, and the complexity of the concern all influence the timeline.
Neuromodulators such as Botox® or Xeomin® reduce targeted muscle activity that contributes to expression lines and facial pulling. Fillers restore or refine structural support and volume. They perform different roles and may be used separately or together, depending on what is creating the concern.
