Recommended Introduction:
Weeks 1–2: Apply every other morning.
Week 3 and Beyond: Increase to daily morning application if well tolerated.
If Irritation Occurs: Pause for several days, then resume at a reduced frequency once the skin has recovered.
AM Sun Protection: Follow with broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. For patients with melasma or persistent hyperpigmentation, tinted sunscreen containing iron oxides provides additional protection against visible-light-related pigmentation.
Amare Clinical Tip: Vitamin C is a valuable addition to a preventative skincare regimen, particularly for patients concerned with dullness, photoaging, and uneven pigmentation.
For skin of color, antioxidant support can complement targeted pigment correction, but it does not replace treatment of the underlying cause of discoloration. Patients with active acne, melasma, or persistent PIH may require additional individualized therapies.
Pure C + E can be paired with retinoids or mandelic acid treatments when appropriate. For patients prone to irritation, consider vitamin C in the morning and retinoids or exfoliating acids on alternate evenings.
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): A biologically active form of vitamin C that provides antioxidant support, participates in collagen synthesis, and helps improve the appearance of uneven pigmentation and dullness.
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E): An oil-soluble vitamin E derivative that provides skin-conditioning and antioxidant benefits, helping support the skin against visible environmental stress.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): Helps support skin barrier function, improve the appearance of uneven pigmentation, and maintain a smoother-looking complexion.
Citric Acid: An alpha hydroxy acid that helps regulate formulation pH and may contribute mild skin-refining properties.
Lactic Acid: An alpha hydroxy acid with exfoliating and humectant properties that helps maintain a softer, smoother skin surface.
Urea: A moisture-binding ingredient that helps soften rough skin and support hydration.
Sodium PCA & Sodium Lactate: Components associated with the skin's natural moisturizing factor that help attract and retain water.
