PM | After Cleansing
Moisten a cotton pad with toner and gently sweep over clean, dry skin, avoiding the eyelids, lips, and mucous membranes. Do not rinse. Follow with a compatible corrective serum or moisturizer.
Recommended Introduction:
Week 1: Begin two to three evenings per week.
Week 2: Increase to every other evening if well tolerated.
Week 3 and Beyond: Increase toward daily use only if skin tolerance and the rest of the regimen permit.
If Irritation Occurs: Reduce frequency or discontinue until skin comfort returns.
AM: Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily. For patients managing persistent hyperpigmentation, tinted sunscreen containing iron oxides provides additional visible-light protection.
Amare Clinical Tip: Normalizing Tonic Forté is especially useful for patients whose primary concerns are oily skin, blackheads, and persistent congestion.
However, skin of color requires careful attention to inflammation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Excessive exfoliation can worsen discoloration rather than improve it.
For patients with acne and significant pigmentation concerns, a mandelic acid-based toner may be a better starting option. Choose exfoliating strength according to skin tolerance and clinical presentation, not simply the severity of dark spots.
Glycolic Acid: An alpha hydroxy acid that promotes surface exfoliation, helping improve dullness, rough texture, and uneven skin tone.
Salicylic Acid: An oil-soluble beta hydroxy acid that helps exfoliate within pores and improve the appearance of blackheads and congestion.
Lactic Acid: An alpha hydroxy acid with exfoliating and moisture-binding properties that supports smoother, softer-looking skin.
Citric Acid: An alpha hydroxy acid that contributes to the formula's exfoliating system and helps regulate formulation acidity.
Witch Hazel: A botanical astringent that helps reduce the appearance of surface oil and visible pores.
