9% Mandelic Acid 3-In-1 Toner

Vivant Skincare 9% Mandelic Acid 3-In-1 Toner

Advanced AHA Exfoliating Toner for Acne-Prone Skin, Dark Spots, Congested Pores & Uneven Texture

Elevate your corrective skincare regimen with Vivant 9% Mandelic Acid 3-In-1 Toner, an advanced-strength exfoliating toner formulated with 9% mandelic acid to improve the appearance of stubborn discoloration, congested pores, uneven skin texture, and dullness.

Designed for oily, acne-prone, and more resilient skin types already accustomed to exfoliating acids, this leave-on alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) treatment helps remove accumulated surface skin cells and excess oil while promoting a smoother, brighter, and more refined complexion.

Particularly relevant for patients managing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), post-acne marks, and irregular skin tone, including melanin-rich complexions, this higher-strength toner provides targeted exfoliation as part of an individualized corrective skincare regimen.

Benefits

  • Advanced Chemical Exfoliation: Contains 9% mandelic acid to promote surface skin renewal and improve rough or uneven texture.

  • Improves the Appearance of Dark Spots: Helps gradually refine uneven pigmentation, sun-related discoloration, and post-acne marks.

  • Supports Acne-Prone Skin: Helps remove accumulated surface cells and excess oil that can contribute to congested pores.

  • Refines Visible Pores: Promotes a smoother skin surface and reduces the appearance of enlarged pores.

  • Enhances Skin Radiance: Helps improve dullness and reveal a brighter, more even-looking complexion.

  • Reduces Surface Oil Buildup: Combines exfoliating and astringent ingredients to help manage visible oiliness.

  • Complements Corrective Serums: Prepares the skin for subsequent products in a comprehensive acne, pigmentation, or skin-renewal regimen.

Best For

Skin Types: Oily, combination, acne-prone, thick, and resilient skin already acclimated to chemical exfoliation.

Skin Concerns:

  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)

  • Dark spots and post-acne discoloration

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Congested pores and blackheads

  • Excess surface oil

  • Rough or uneven texture

  • Dullness and accumulated surface buildup

  • Visible signs of photoaging

  • Persistent acne-related imperfections

Not Ideal For: Individuals new to exfoliating acids, very dry or reactive skin, active rosacea flares, or compromised skin barriers.

Key Ingredients

Mandelic Acid 9%: An alpha hydroxy acid derived from bitter almonds that helps exfoliate accumulated surface skin cells, refine uneven texture, and improve the appearance of dark spots and post-acne discoloration. Its larger molecular structure generally allows slower penetration than glycolic acid, although the higher concentration can still cause irritation.

Witch Hazel Extract: A botanical astringent that helps reduce the appearance of surface oil and enlarged pores while providing antioxidant skin-conditioning properties.

Propylene Glycol: A humectant and solvent that helps maintain moisture within the formula and supports ingredient delivery.

How to Use

AM or PM | After Cleansing

Apply a small amount to a cotton pad and gently sweep over clean, dry skin on the face, neck, or décolleté, avoiding the eye area and mucous membranes.

Recommended Acclimation Schedule:

  • Week 1: Apply every third day.

  • Week 2: Increase to every other day if tolerated.

  • Week 3 and Beyond: Increase to once daily if skin remains comfortable. Twice-daily use should be reserved for patients who tolerate the formula and whose regimen supports that frequency.

Follow with your recommended corrective serum and moisturizer.

AM: Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily. For patients managing melasma or persistent hyperpigmentation, a tinted sunscreen containing iron oxides is especially beneficial for additional visible-light protection.

Amare Clinical Tip: Increasing exfoliant strength does not necessarily produce faster pigmentation correction. In melanin-rich skin, excessive exfoliation can trigger inflammation and worsen post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

The 9% toner is best reserved for patients who have established tolerance to lower-strength mandelic acid products and require more intensive surface exfoliation. Patients using prescription retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, or additional exfoliating acids may need reduced frequency or an alternative toner.

Important to Know

  • Contains 9% mandelic acid, a higher-strength leave-on exfoliating ingredient.

  • Temporary tingling, dryness, flaking, or mild peeling may occur during acclimation.

  • Contains denatured alcohol and witch hazel, which may contribute to dryness or irritation in susceptible skin.

  • Avoid applying to broken, severely irritated, or compromised skin.

  • Use caution when combining with other exfoliating acids, prescription retinoids, or acne medications.

  • Daily sun protection is essential.

  • Discontinue use if persistent burning, excessive redness, or significant peeling develops.

  • Results vary depending on skin condition, tolerance, and consistency of use.
