Normalizing Tonic

Vivant Skincare Normalizing Tonic

Glycolic & Lactic Acid Exfoliating Toner for Oily Skin, Enlarged-Looking Pores & Uneven Texture

Refresh, refine, and reveal smoother-looking skin with Vivant Normalizing Tonic, an exfoliating facial toner formulated to address dullness, excess surface oil, visible pores, and uneven skin texture.

Featuring glycolic acid, lactic acid, and witch hazel, this clarifying toner helps remove accumulated surface skin cells and residual impurities while promoting a smoother, brighter, and more balanced-looking complexion.

Designed for patients seeking effective surface exfoliation without the additional salicylic acid found in more intensive toners, Normalizing Tonic is particularly useful for oily and combination skin experiencing roughness, dullness, or visible congestion.

Incorporated into an individualized skincare regimen, this toner provides a targeted exfoliating step between cleansing and corrective serums.

Benefits

  • Promotes Surface Exfoliation: Glycolic and lactic acids help loosen accumulated dead skin cells.

  • Improves Uneven Texture: Helps refine roughness and promote a smoother-looking complexion.

  • Enhances Skin Radiance: Exfoliation helps diminish the appearance of dull, tired-looking skin.

  • Refines Visible Pores: Helps reduce the appearance of enlarged pores associated with surface buildup.

  • Supports Oil Control: Witch hazel provides astringent properties that help reduce the appearance of excess surface oil.

  • Improves the Appearance of Uneven Tone: Consistent, well-tolerated exfoliation can help improve superficial discoloration.

  • Softens Skin: Lactic acid provides exfoliating and moisture-binding properties.

  • Prepares Skin for Subsequent Products: Helps remove residual surface buildup before applying compatible serums and moisturizers.

Best For

Skin Types: Normal, combination, oily, and selected resilient skin types that tolerate alpha hydroxy acids.

Skin Concerns:

  • Dull or tired-looking skin

  • Rough or uneven texture

  • Excess surface oil

  • Enlarged-looking pores

  • Mild congestion

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Superficial discoloration

  • Early visible signs of photoaging

  • Skin requiring a glycolic acid exfoliating toner

May Be Less Ideal For: Very sensitive skin, active rosacea flares, compromised skin barriers, or patients who develop irritation from glycolic acid.

Key Ingredients

Glycolic Acid: An alpha hydroxy acid that promotes exfoliation of accumulated surface skin cells, helping improve dullness, uneven texture, and the appearance of fine lines.

Lactic Acid: An alpha hydroxy acid with both exfoliating and humectant properties. Helps improve surface smoothness and maintain skin softness.

Witch Hazel: A botanical astringent used to help refine the appearance of pores and reduce visible oiliness.

Urea: A component of the skin's natural moisturizing factor that supports hydration and skin softness.

How to Use

AM or PM | After Cleansing

After cleansing, moisten a cotton pad with Normalizing Tonic and gently sweep across the face and neck, avoiding the eye area, lips, and irritated skin.

Do not scrub. Follow with your recommended serum and moisturizer.

Suggested Introduction:

  • Week 1: Begin two to three evenings per week.

  • Week 2: Increase to every other evening if well tolerated.

  • Ongoing: Increase frequency only as needed and tolerated.

  • If Irritation Occurs: Reduce use or discontinue until skin comfort returns.

Morning Care: Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day. Patients managing melasma or persistent hyperpigmentation may benefit from tinted sunscreen containing iron oxides.

Amare Clinical Tip: Normalizing Tonic is best considered when the primary treatment goals are surface refinement, dullness, and oil-related texture concerns.

For patients with acne and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, especially skin of color, the selection of exfoliating acids should account for sensitivity and the risk of irritation-related discoloration.

Glycolic acid is not automatically preferable to mandelic acid. Patients with a history of irritation or persistent pigmentation may benefit from a more conservative exfoliating regimen.

Important to Know

  • Contains glycolic and lactic acids.

  • Exfoliating acids may cause temporary tingling, dryness, redness, or peeling.

  • Avoid applying to broken, irritated, or compromised skin.

  • Do not unnecessarily combine with multiple exfoliating toners.

  • Use caution when combining with retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, or other potentially irritating products.

  • Daily sunscreen is important during exfoliating acid use.

  • Discontinue use if persistent burning, swelling, or significant irritation develops.

  • Product suitability depends on skin condition, treatment goals, and individual tolerance.
