AM and/or PM | Medicated Cleansing Step (Step 1: Cleanse)
Wet face or affected body areas with lukewarm water. Dispense a small amount of BP 3% Acne Treatment Wash onto hands and gently massage over the skin for 20 to 30 seconds, avoiding the eyes, lips, and nostrils. Rinse thoroughly with water and gently pat dry with a clean, white towel. Follow with your corrective serums, moisturizer, and daily SPF.
Recommended Protocol:
Acclimation Phase (Week 1): Use once daily or every other day to allow skin to adjust to active benzoyl peroxide.
Maintenance Phase (Week 2+): Increase to 1 to 2 times daily as tolerated by your skin barrier.
Body Care: Apply generously to wet skin on the chest, shoulders, or back during showering; massage briefly and rinse thoroughly.
AM: Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher (such as Mesoprotech Mineral Matt Fluid) is mandatory. For patients managing post-acne marks or hyperpigmentation, broad-spectrum tinted sunscreen containing iron oxides provides superior visible-light protection.
Amare Clinical Tip: When managing active acne alongside post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), controlling inflammation without disrupting the barrier is critical. Excessive dryness or scrubbing can trigger secondary hyperpigmentation, especially in skin of color (Fitzpatrick IV–VI). Choosing this bead-free 3% wash over an abrasive scrub allows for effective antibacterial control without mechanical friction.

Unlike topical antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide does not promote bacterial antibiotic resistance and is commonly used in comprehensive acne treatment regimens.
